Whether you enroll in the course or program, there are seven levels of study to help you achieve your language goals. Intensive Listening and Speaking (Levels 1-5)

The Listening and Speaking Courses offer learners a variety of activities using textbooks, authentic practice, and multi-media to move them from the basics of speaking and listening to proficiency levels appropriate for intermediate and advanced learners. Regardless of the learner's native language, our instructors use strategies and approaches to enhance the communication skills needed in the global English-speaking community. Course activities include pair and group work, sharing opinions and ideas, learning conversational language, and extensive opportunities for pronunciation practice.

Intensive Reading and Writing (Levels 1-5)

Potential writers and readers with minimal skills progress from beginning to intermediate to advanced levels of competency as they grasp simple and then sophisticated principles and techniques through the integration of traditional instruction, videos, and engaging texts. Using step-by-step teacher-directed, learner-centered approaches, our courses are designed to help students develop needed critical skills. Inherent in these courses are a variety of stimulating topics, materials, exercises, and interactive activities to assist learners in developing life-long strategies to become successful readers and writers.

    The Real Thing (Level 6)

The aim of this course is to prepare advanced ESL students to succeed in college and professional environments. In other words, students will transform their comprehension of English into an actualization of skills which make them well prepared to excel in college classrooms and be productive in working environments. Students will not only gain skills critical to passing the TOEFL test, but will also acquire pivotal skills needed for college success. Textbook lessons will be coupled with video lessons to maximize the learning experiences. Students will experience the reality of participating in academic environments of U.S. higher institutions of learning through observing and critically examining segments of college professors' classes.

More of the Real Thing (Level 7)

More of the Real Thing provides a bridge for moving directly into the mainstream of academic life in U.S. universities. This course will help to draw out students' potential for active participation in classes as they respond to coaching and have opportunities to apply what is presented in the lecture series. By having familiarity with the norms of the college classroom from a range of disciplines, college-bound students will have the tools needed to excel in the academic arena and for participation in the world of work.
