18 Hours per Week/Eight-Week Sessions

Included: CAPE Main Course (15 hours per week) plus Professional Project Course (3 hours per week)

The Collegiate and Professional English (CAPE) Program aims to prepare and equip mastery students with communication skills essential for success in college and/or professional life. This is accomplished through extensive practice in advanced skill building and refinement, as well as advanced communicative projects designed with the particular professional needs of the student in mind.

CAPE Main Courses

Offering extensive instruction and practice in writing, reading, listening, speaking, vocabulary, and critical thinking through the exploration of authentic academic content, as well as advanced communicative projects designed with the particular professional needs of the student in mind, CAPE focuses on the advanced skills needed for success at the college and professional level. All CAPE classes require presentations, discussions and/or debates, documentaries, films or lectures, essays and/or research papers, college-level reading, academic vocabulary acquisition, and critical thinking, all of which become more refined as content deepens with each level.  

Days: Monday-Friday
Times: 9:40 AM - 12:30 PM; 1:00 PM - 3:50 PM; 6:00 PM - 8:50PM

CAPE Professional Project Courses

Designed with the individual professional needs of the student in mind, including professional writing skills, individualized vocabulary and pronunciation development, as well as ample practice to work with peers and hone the interpersonal skills necessary for the professional workplace, these six three-hour per week courses are the perfect complement to the CAPE 15-hour courses. 

Days: M/W or T/Th
Times: 8:00 AM - 9:30 PM or 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM

Prerequisites:

  • Successfully complete all seven levels of AEI’s Intensive English Course, or
  • Score higher than Level Seven on AEI’s placement test, or
  • Successfully pass professional exams in English
