Good afternoon everybody. How are you? First of all I want to ask you a question, “Do you like to make friend”? As I stand here, I would like to present my speech about my experience making friends with international students. Two of them are Maria del Pino, who is in Spain , doing her therapy right now since she was run over by a car, and Perry, who is a good listener and the most fashionable guy I have ever met. Here are some pictures I’ve brought of them, so you can see.

I remember the first time I came to this school, I had no friends. My placement test results put me in level 4, which was Miss. Lisa’s class. I sat beside one girl, Maria who was, and is very nice. We were walking to the Marta station together and talking about same obstacles and problems that we had here. We always asked Julie to put us together in the same class, but because of that accident, she could not finish level 7.

Let me tell you a little about Perry. The first time I saw him, I thought he was a girl because of the way he carried himself. He realized that his original name “Peerasit” was difficult to say. That’s why he changed his name to Perry, but sometimes people thought his name is Harry because of his pronunciation. I started my friendship with him because we used to walk together to the Marta station and also he likes shopping. He likes to buy clothes and he spends more than I do. The way he acts and talks makes me laugh every time. Since then, he has gone back to Thailand.

Making friends with international students is not easy. We have a lot of differences such as language, culture, food and other things. Maybe miscommunication can also happen, but since we have become best friends, it disappears naturally. We have come to understand each other.

There is an idiom called “Hook up with” which means to meet. When we are talking about hooking up with somebody new, there must also be a farewell. This is the most difficult part of making friends with international students especially in an English School . So, guys, be prepared for a short relationship and the farewell. It is so hard to say goodbye, because you do not know when you are going to meet each other again. But since we live in the modern technology era, we can still communicate with each other. You have to still keep in touch, so the relationship that you have will never end.
